Year in Review and The List of Goals It’s Quite Unlikely I Will Accomplish Next Year

Since today is the last Sunday of 2018, I think it’s a good idea to analyse this year and point out the good and the bad things that happened. And it’s time to draft the “New Year’s Resolutions”, or The List of Goals It’s Quite Unlikely I Will Accomplish Next Year.

Positive things that happened in 2018:

  • I started writing again
  • I got a tattoo
  • I donated my blood for the fourth time
  • I passed all my exams
  • I travelled a lot
  • I left home for Erasmus
  • I made new experiences
  • I learned a new language
  • I met incredible, wonderful people
  • I opened a personal blog
  • I shared my love for writing with other people
  • My sister won an architecture contest
  • My best friend got the scholarship that she needed and wanted
  • I took part in a Salsa competition

Negative things happened in 2018:

  • I put on a lot of weight
  • My parents had to spend a lot of money because of the Erasmus
  • I might have lost a good chance
  • I lost some friendships
  • I didn’t read many books
  • My grandma broke her femoral bone
  • My friend and flatmate got sick during Christmas
  • I didn’t write a lot of reviews
  • I got my heart broken, twice
  • I had a lot of fights with my parents

2019’s Resolutions (with the hope that at least some of them are realistic):

  • Getting fitter
  • Doing the internship
  • Writing my Bachelor thesis
  • Graduating by October
  • Getting another tattoo
  • Donating my blood again
  • Starting driving alone
  • Saving some money
  • Finding a job
  • Meeting new people
  • Keeping important friendships
  • Travelling
  • Reading more
  • Writing more
  • Getting Russian B2 Certification
  • Getting German B1 Certification
  • Getting the IELTS Certification
  • Being a good daughter, a good sister and a good friend
  • Taking the chances life offers me (if any)
  • Opening up to the world a bit more
  • Perhaps deciding what to do with my life, or at least for my Master’s Degree

That’s it, I guess. Will I be able to do that? We’ll see.

What about you? Do you usually “review” your year and make resolutions for the new one? And can you accomplish all your goals?
